The Orientation Practices In The Sustenance Of The Vocational Processes

El presente trabajo se encuadra en el Proyecto de Investigación: “Aportes de los Procesos de Orientación Vocacional-Ocupacional y Reorientación en la construcción y sostenimiento de los proyectos de futuro de los jóvenes” de la Universidad Nacional de Río Cuarto (SECyT Res. Rec. Nº 442/09).
En esta oportunidad se presentan los resultados obtenidos en la etapa de seguimiento, considerando específicamente la población del Nivel Medio que realizó talleres de Orientación Vocacional Ocupacional (en adelante OVO) en el Área de Orientación Vocacional de la U.N.R.C.
Esta publicación tiene como propósito analizar los aportes de los talleres de OVO para la elección de carrera y/u ocupación e indagar si los mismos proporcionan aprendizajes que favorecen el sostenimiento de los proyectos construidos en base a esas elecciones. En la elección de carrera se priorizan los intereses y expectativas personales, conjuntamente con un análisis reflexivo y crítico de la información académica y ocupacional. Sin embargo, en el devenir del desarrollo del proyecto vocacional, pueden surgir obstáculos vinculados generalmente al rendimiento académico y adaptación a la vida universitaria.
Se utilizó como instrumento de recolección de datos una encuesta semi-estructurada, que se realizó telefónicamente a 101 sujetos. El análisis demostró que la mayoría de los jóvenes valoran positivamente los aportes del Taller de Orientación Vocacional, destacando la importancia de los diferentes aspectos desarrollados en los encuentros referidos al conocimiento de sí mismo, al reconocimiento de los intereses vocacionales, de las propias capacidades y limitaciones, esclarecimiento de dudas, profundización de la información académico-profesional posibilitándoles la toma de decisión y el sostenimiento en el cursado de la carrera.

Abstract
The present work is framed in the research Project “The contributions of the vocational-occupational orientation and reorientation processes in the construction and sustenance of the future projects of the young” (Universidad Nacional de Río Cuarto, SeCyT Res. 442/09)
In this paper we present the results obtained in the monitoring phase of our study taking into account specifically the Secondary School population who took Vocational-Occupational orientation workshops (OVO for short) in the Area of Vocational Orientation of the UNRC.
This publication aims at analyzing the contribution made by the OVO to the students’ choices of careers and/or jobs and also at finding out whether the OVO promote the sustenance of the projects constructed on the basis of such choices. In the choice of a career, personal interests and expectations as well as the critical and reflective analysis of the academic-occupational information are prioritized. However, in the course of the development of the individuals’ projects, different obstacles normally related with their academic performance and adaptation to the University life may emerge.
The instrument used for date collection was a semi-structured interview carried out by phone to 101 individuals. The analysis of the data obtained showed that most of the people interviewed valued the contributions of the OVO very positively highlighting the importance of the different aspects developed in the meetings regarding the knowledge of their own selves, the recognition of their vocational interests and of their own potentials and limitations, the clearing up of their doubts and the deepening of relevant academic-professional information helping them in their decision making process and during the course of their studies.
